“In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” – Acts 20:35
We all have been given gifts by God. Gifts that are for the edification of the body/the church. In 1 Corinthians 12 and Romans 12 we see various gifts that have been given to God’s people in the church, for the church. The gifts that have been given to each member of the church are for the church, not for personal gain or satisfaction.
Therefore, as a church, we want to remember that our gifts whatever they may be, are of equal importance and are for one another’s strengthening in the faith. Whether it’s teaching, preaching, serving, leading, exhorting, or cleaning, we are called to use these gifts to serve and it truly is a gift to be able to do this. Let us not let this gift pass us by, let us bless the church as we are blessed of the Lord through our serving.
“As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. Whoever speaks, let him speak, as it were, the utterances of God; whoever serves, let him do so as by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”- 1 Peter 4:10-11
